Our Environmental Position
Irvine International is excited about being a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council. This is a natural partnership for us, with our exclusive access to environmentally sustainable award-winning flooring products manufactured all over the world

We have chosen to focus on what we can do to increase the efficiency of our operations and the performance of the products we represent, while decreasing our impact on our surroundings and our use of resources. This includes recycling packaging and a returns policy for sample distribution.
All our sampling is supplied with a label requesting that the customer returns the sample so that it is then available for others to consider, rather than fast-tracking it for landfill.
It is our policy to align ourselves with manufacturers who are committed to Environmentally Sustainable Design and we make a conscious effort to support those that have their own comprehensive and effective Environmental Policies.
This level of critical thinking has lead to product design innovations like Nexterra Carpet Tiles, with 85% post-consumer recycled content! These tiles are currently pending Enviro-Choice certification.

It has also pushed manufacturers to continually increase recycled content in all their products, such as the 10% recycled content in Mannington's Vinyl Composite Tiles, (10% may not sound a lot, but it means that about 25 tons per week of plant waste doesn't go to landfill).
Amtico International is totally committed to high environmental standards. They were the first flooring manufacturer to gain the ISO 14001 standard for a comprehensive environmental management system back in 1995. The Company recycles practically all its manufacturing waste and, as part of its overall energy strategy, Amtico has installed new drives to more efficiently manage their energy consumption. Amtico's energy reduction programme has yielded an improvement from just over 11 kg of CO2 emitted per square yard down to under 4kg over the seven year period (ie over 220 tonnes per year). This 67% reduction is a direct measure of their commitment towards less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This makes a real difference!
